Community Standards & Student Conduct

Community Standards and Student Conduct (CSSC) fosters a developmental approach to student conduct, provides support and guidance to the University community, and promotes the values and expectations of the University of Washington.

Through the Student Conduct Code, HUSKIES hold themselves to the highest standards of ethics, integrity and accountability. View our vision and values statement.

College is about making good choices.

CSSC is a part of a University-wide Consultation & Assessment Team (CAT) sponsored by the Division of Student Life. This team includes members from Health and Wellness, the Counseling Center, and UWPD, & Residence Life as well as others concerned about student safety and welfare. If you are concerned about a student, please contact CSSC at or by contacting Health and Wellness at

Certification / Disciplinary Clearance Process

For students who are transferring to other universities or participating in a Study Abroad experience, verification of attendance or good standing is often required. Please bring forms to the CSSC office Condon Hall Room 230. Disciplinary records will not be released without a student’s written permission so please sign any forms in blue or black ink.

Community Standards

UW students are good neighbors. CSSC works with students living in the North of 45th Neighborhood area, along with year-round residents of University Park, to ensure that a safe and respectful neighborhood environment is created for all who live there. Check out the Living Off Campus section for more information about being a good neighbor.
