Housed in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington, the Stroum Jewish Studies Program is the most comprehensive institution in the region for the academic study of Jewish life in its cultural, intellectual, religious and international contexts.

Visit our new website and blog for fresh takes on Jewish life and culture by UW students, faculty, and community members. You will also find up-to-date course information, details on upcoming public programs, archived event videos, podcasts, and more!

One project that the Stroum Jewish Studies Program is proud to support is our brand new Sephardic Studies Initiative, spearheaded by Dr. Devin Naar. To find out more, check out the Sephardic Treasures page on our new website.

Representing over a dozen disciplines, our faculty teach, research and share their scholarship with UW students, other scholars and the general community so all may come to appreciate the important contributions made by Jewish people in helping to shape our world to date. The SJSP receives the majority of its funding from the community whose partnership enables the cultivation and promotion of the Program’s scholarly endeavors.
